President Buhari relaxed and watching a Channels TV news programme, on Sunday in London.
President Muhammadu Buhari, currently on a short vacation in the UK, broke his silence on Sunday, saluting the Nigerian media for performing its duties diligently.
The President, who tweeted from London on his Twitter handle @MBuhari, said he was always in touch with news from home.
Buhari, whose picture was also posted in the tweet, specifically named Channels TV as one of his favourite television stations.
He said: “Wherever I am, I keep up with news from home. Channels TV is one of my favorites. I’m proud of what the Nigerian media are achieving.”
The accompanying photo showed the Nigerian leader relaxed on a settee, his leg on the table and on the phone while watching a Channels TV news programme.
The post, which came amid rumours about Buhari’s purported death, was his first communication with Nigerians and the outside world since he suddenly embarked on a ten-day vacation in the United Kingdom which he said would be used to seek medical attention.
Buhari traveled out on Thursday and is due to resume work on February 6.
His spokespersons Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu over the weekend dismissed reports (not by News Express) about his purported death, describing them as “evil rumours”.
