CHRSJ Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman.

A rights group, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), has declared its support for the planned peaceful solidarity rally to be organised by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in support of the smooth and successful takeover of 45th American President, Mr. Donald Trump and the release of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and others illegally being detained by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Department of State Services (DSS).

The group described the peaceful rally as a welcome development in the right direction, calling on Nigerian authorities to release the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and other members of IPOB who have been detained illegally in the course of fighting for their inalienable rights of self-determination.

It advised President Muhamadu Buhari to obey both Nigerian and ECOWAS court orders on all the present political detainees in the country as stipulated in the constitutional democracy, saying disobedience of Court orders by Nigeria government was sending wrong signal about the country to the international community as a lawless nation.

Declaring its support to the IPOB peaceful rally in support of the new American President, Mr. slated to hold on Friday 20th January, 2017 tagged, ‘IPOB-Trump Solidarity Rally’ , CHRSJ in a statement signed by its Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, on Wednesday, disclosed that freedom of the self-determination fighters should not be negotiated.

Comrade Sulaiman maintained that the Nigeria government should release every member of the IPOB illegally detained on Friday unconditionally as a mark of honour to the new American President. He described the detention of Kanu and others as illegal, unconstitutional, undemocratic, evil and satanic.

The CHRSJ boss further stated that the emergency of Mr. Donald Trump as President of United States was a good thing to happen to America as a world leading country in her democratic culture, praying to God to give Trump a successful tenure of office by making America and other countries of the world to enjoy peaceful co-existence.

Sulaiman disclosed that his group had concluded arrangement to join IPOB in any of its subsequent peaceful protest in Lagos State aside the Friday peaceful protest slated to hold in Port Harcourt, urging the security agents in the land to be guided by the Constitutional provision of protecting the lives and property of the citizens during the peaceful rally and should not serve as
saboteur to the peaceful protest.
