A Nigerian author and researcher, Tolu Oladimeji, is laying claim to a ground-breaking discovery on how English Language was used by Ancient Egyptian Priests to name their gods and Pharaohs; and as a medium of Oracular consultations.

“Basically, I am saying that English is the secret code of ancient Egypt, but I am not saying that ancient Egyptians spoke English,” he said during a media interaction on Saturday at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja Lagos.

Mr. Oladimeji, a script writer, qualified Graphic Artist and an IT professional based in Britain, is holidaying in Nigeria and using the opportunity to promote his work in this regard. After much research, he first developed the hypothesis in a seminal paper completed on January 28, 2001. He later wrote another paper on the discovery. The two papers with the title English, the language of the gods, are available for free download at www.ToluOladimeji.com.

Mr. Oladimeji said on Saturday that he made the big discovery “by means of oracular consultation by ancient Egyptian priests,” adding: “I have written a paper that proves English and or broken English was used to name Pharaohs and Queens of ancient Egypt.”

He disclosed that his curiousity was first aroused while he was an undergraduate in Nigeria, studying Graphic Arts at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. “First, it was impulse, but when I relocated to Britain, the more I researched, the more I was convinced that this is English language,” he said.

Mr. Oladimeji described the discovery as “a game changer”, saying: “It is very, very relevant and I have to bring it to the mainstream.”
