A Lagos bound train from Kano has crashed into a truck along Mando Road in Kaduna.
The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Kaduna Sector Command confirmed the development but dismissed stories that five people died in the accident.
Abdullahi Mohammed, leader of the FRSC rescue team of the accident, told journalists on Wednesday in Kaduna that those injured, among whom were the driver of the truck and his boy, were currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
“The driver is currently at a stable condition. The victims that we are much concerned with now are the bread hawkers and their friends who sustained injury when the truck fell on their side. The injury is serious but the medical team said it is not life threatening,” he said.
Mr. Mohammed called on roadside hawkers to keep away from such spot to forestall future occurrence.
The cargo train crashed through a truck along Mando Road in Kaduna North Local Area of the state late Tuesday night. Eyewitnesses say the loud noise from the collusion created panic among the residents.
