Police arrests informants of armed criminals

The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Bauchi State Police Command in collaboration with Danga Security and Local Vigilante groups has arrested one Muhammadu Abdullahi of Gudurawa village of Ningi Local Government Area (LGA) of Bauchi State.

SP Haruna Mohammed, Ag. PPRO Bauchi State Police Command, said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the suspect was arrested at Lame District in Toro LGA while conveying hard drugs and foodstuffs to suspected armed robbers and hostage takers for ransom in Yuga/Burra forest of Ningi and Toro LGA.

Exhibits recovered from the suspect include 2,500 Tramadol tablets of 22mg suspected to be hard drugs; another yet to be ascertained drugs weighing three kg; and one Boxer motor cycle.

In a related development, following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to Ganjuwa Division also arrested one Hashimu Nasiru of Buzum hamlet of Ganjuwa LGA of Bauchi State.

The suspect was said to have been arrested on his way to suspected kidnappers hideouts in Buzum forest in Ganjuwa.

The Police Command said exhibits recovered from him include one telephone handset containing video footage of suspected kidnappers counting and sharing ransom collected from their victims.

Meanwhile, all the suspects freely confessed to the crime and are assisting the Police with useful information.
