Dust haze, poor visibility to continue today in the North, mist and fog in the South: NIMET

•Dusty weather.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Wednesday, December 21, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Yelwa, Gusau, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Nguru and Maiduguri are expected to be under the influence of dust haze conditions with horizontal visibility range of 2 – 5km while some places may have visibility less than 1000m in the next 24 hours forecast period. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 37°C and 10 – 18°C respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze conditions are anticipated over the region with horizontal visibility of 2 – 5 km throughout the 24 hour forecast period. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 36°C and 12 – 18°C respectively.

SOUTHERN STATES: Mist and fog conditions are expected over Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin and Warri during the early morning hours. Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are likely with prospects of isolated rains over Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and Yenagoa during the afternoon/evening hours. The Day and Night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 33 – 35°C and 22 – 24°C respectively.
