Hajj and Umrah operators in Nigeria have been advised to play by the rules and regulations guiding the holy trips as released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The advice was given by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Barr. Mukhtar Abdullahi Muhammad during a meeting held between the Commission and the leadership of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (ANUON) in Abuja.
Abdullahi urged the operators to comply strictly with the regulations governing their operational licenses. He enlisted the association to cooperate with the Commission to stamp out corruption and quacks from the industry.
He gave the assurance of the Commission’s readiness to accept constructive ideas from the association as well as criticisms from the general public so as to correct any envisaged lapses and sanitise the operations.
In his response, the President of AHUON, Alhaji Abdulfatai Abdulmajeed, lauded the leadership of the Commission for their selfless services to the cause of Allah. He said the Commission is a blessing to the Hajj industry as numerous transformations have been recorded since its establishment.
The meeting discussed among others the reconciliations of 2016 Hajj, calendar of events for the Tour Operators, NAHCON’s routine inspections on the operators as well as the meeting with the Saudi Minister of Hajj coming up next month.
