Expect poor visibility in the North today, misty and cloudy weather down South: NIMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Tuesday December 13, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze is expected with horizontal visibility within the range of 2-5km with localised visibility of less than 1,000m over places like Maiduguri, Sokoto, Katsina and Kano. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 38 – 33°C and 23 – 13°C respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Sunny and hazy conditions are expected over Abuja, Minna, Lokoja, Markudi, Ilorin, southern Kaduna and Jos. in the morning while afternoon partly cloudy over the high grounds in the same region Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 38 – 29°C and 25 – 13°C respectively.

SOUTHERN STATES: Early morning mist and fog patches which will later give way to cloudy conditions are anticipated over this region in the morning, later in the afternoon/evening hours cities like Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Calabar, Eket and Benin will likely experience thunderstorm. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 37 – 33°C and 25 – 23°C respectively.
