Dr. Bege Katuka and Mr. Alex Iya, Interim Management Committee Chairmen of Jama’a and Kaura Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, have described as very unfortunate, recent claims by Senator Danjuma Laah, representing South Senatorial District, that the State Government has showed no concern on the killings in Southern Kaduna.
The chairmen, who spoke on Thursday at a press briefing in Kaduna, said: “For the Senator to take side is very unfortunate, while the state Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has taken oath that he would protect lives and property of citizens of the state.”
According to one of the council chairmen, “Whoever said that, this government is not doing anything towards resolving the crisis, I stand to disagree with some people who want to give this government a bad name.”
They pledged to “continue to ensure reconciliation and negotiation, because this is the best means of achieving peace and harmony in southern Kaduna.”
The council chairmen also announced that, 11 communities in the area that have been affected by the crisis, have started returning to their homes since after the Godogodo crisis.
