A civil rights group under the auspices of Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has accused Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, of transferring a sum of N2 billon Osun State Ecological Fund to Ondo State in support of the candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Mr. Olushola Oke, ahead of today’s governorship election in the state.

The civil group also alleged that the fund has been in the custody of the former Special Adviser and now Consultant on Environmental Sanitation to Governor Aregbesola, Mr. Bola Ilori, who doubles as the Director- General of Olusola Oke Campaign Organization.

The group therefore, called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), to carry out a thorough investigation of their claims.

It describes Aregbesola six years in office “as a disaster and embodiment of corruption, during  which mass of our people have been inflicted with hunger and calamities.”

Chairman of the group, Comrade Adeniyi Sulaiman in a statement on Friday, stated that “all the acclaimed fraudulent and moribund developmental projects embarked upon by the state government were with the great social cost and pain.”

It insisted that Aregbesola has been ruling the state as like a sole administrator without members of the State Executive Council in the last two years of his second term in office, adding that the state government was still owing 10 months and eleven months salary and pension arrears to the workers and retirees respectively.
