Jamā’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lādda’awatih wal-Jihad, more popularly known as Boko Haram, is unhappy over the controversial film Innocent Muslims, which blasphemed the name of Prophet Muhammad and has attracted angry reaction from Muslims around the world.

A usually reliable source who spoke with News Express disclosed that Boko Haram sees the film produced by an American as an affront to Islam and is considering launching attacks to express its displeasure.

Boko Haram regards The United States of America as an enemy, especially after the Barack Obama administration labeled the group’s principal leaders as global terrorists.

“Boko Haram’s unhappiness over the controversial film is connected with the threat to launch attacks in Abuja although it is being projected as a normal threat from the group,” the source said.

News Express launched enquiries following an alert by top blog CKN Nigeria, which warned earlier today: “If U in around Abuja, be very very careful cos boko haram have promised to make Abuja bloody this weekend. So avoid crowded places, clubs, bars, gardens etc, One of their target areas is d WUSE MARKET. Be warned. Pls send this to all ur contact cos we must try to save as many souls as possible. Information gotten from an Intelligence security.”

As reported in the morning by News Express, at least seven more people lost their lives yesterday following escalated protests over Innocence of Muslims as the protests spread to many more countries across the world over the movie which paints Prophet Muhammad in negative light.

At least seven people were killed in Tunisia and Sudan after weekly Muslim prayers, while there was new violence in Egypt and Yemen and across the Muslim world.

The protests had started Tuesday in Libya and Egypt, escalating the next day, resulting in the killing of the US Ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, and three other diplomats during an attack on the American mission in Benghazi.
