A group, the Network for Sustainable Development In Borno, has congratulated the Senate Leader, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, on his appointment as a member of Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiatives (PCNI).

In a statement by Brig. Gen. D.B. Shaljaba (rtd), he described Ndume’s appointment as “well deserved,” adding: “We wish to write and congratulate you on your well deserved appointment as member of the presidential committee on North-East Initiatives (PCNI).”
According to Shaljaba, “It is our belief that your distinguished presence on the committee will translate into excellence in the processes of rehabilitation, reconstruction, resettlement, and reintegration of the north-east."

He said: “As an organisation championing the cause of rebuilding and rehabilitation in the region, we wish to avail our platform for partnership for actualisation of the planned development agenda in the North-East.”

Shaljaba also said his group looks “forward to fruitful working relationship with your committee, for the benefits of all our people and the region.”

Meanwhile, the entire leadership and members of the Network for Sustainable Development in Borno have expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the inauguration of PCNI.

A statement by the group said: “The inauguration couldn't have come at a better time than now, having seen the positive signals of the successes in the prosecution of the war on terror by our gallant forces, making remarkable sacrifices for us all.

“It is our collective belief as victims of insurgency that the committee, having collapsed all the initial interventions of victims support funds (VSF), safe schools initiatives (SSI), presidential initiatives on northeast (PINE) into the present PCNI will translate into proper and better coordination of the Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Resettlement and Reintegration (RRRR) of the people and the regions as we also call for reconciliation to be a key consideration for the committee for peace building and community living.”
