Governor, 30,000 others omitted in October salary payment for missing documentation deadline

No fewer than 30,000 persons, under the Jigawa State pay roll were omitted from the payment of October salary including Governor Muhammadu Badaru and his deputy, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.
Others that missed their October salary include civil servants, political office holders and some members of the state executive council.
The affected persons were said to have failed to submit their banks account details to the State Government’s salary and pension department before the deadline given for it.
This was disclosed by the state commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Usman Namadi, while speaking to newsmen in Dutse. He said, “All who missed their October salary were those who are yet to submits their Bank Verification Number (BVN) to the salary and pension section of the Ministry of Finance.”
According to him, the results from the banks showed that out of the 54,000 employees in the state, 28,132 have been cleared, adding the state discovered that about 807 staff have no BVN at all while 25,000 staff account numbers did not match with theirBVNs.
The commissioner said it was further discovered that about 69 employees have their names incomplete.
