University of Ibadan Centre for Sustainable Development (CESDEV) and the Nigeria Network of Non-Governmental Organisations (NNNGO) in collaboration with the Action for Sustainable Development have called for action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The call was made during the first in the series of Sustainable Development Practice Seminar Series (SDPSS) held at CESDEV in Ibadan. The seminar was tagged “Leaving No One behind: Moving from Research to Action”.
Mr. Oluseyi Oyebisi, Executive Director, NNNGO and the Guest Speaker, admonished all and sundry to stop complaining and start proffering innovative solutions through product-based research. He particularly sighted the work of Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder of Facebook together with his college roommates that worked on a research project and launched Facebook from Harvard’s dormitory.
Professor Olaniyan, Director of the University of Ibadan CESDEV on behalf of the Management, staff and students profoundly thanked the team of NNNGO for the inaugural presentation and the stimulating discussions that followed which is of immense importance to arouse the desired move to action for the actualisation of the sustainable development goals.  Prof. Olaniyan further stressed the importance of collaboration, though there are evidential challenges here and there but admonished everyone “to start from somewhere, it is never too late to start, let us move to action.”
Dr. Olawale Olayide, Coordinator of the Development Practice Programme, reiterated the purpose of the Sustainable Development Practice Seminar Series. He said that the seminar was a town-gown collaboration involving the NNNGO, Action for Sustainable Development (Action4SD) and University of Ibadan CESDEV.
