The much-hyped English Premiership match of the week turned out to be a one-sided affair, with Chelsea pounding Manchester United 4-0 minutes ago to make the return of former manager Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge a big nightmare.
The goals started coming from the very minute of the game, and in the end the star-studded visiting team that paraded Zlatan Ibrahimovic and world’s most expensive player Paul Pogba became drenched in goals.
The Blues got off to a perfect start after 30 seconds of hostilities when Pedro outran the Man U defence, beat onrushing goalkeeper David de Gea and slotted into an empty net.
In 21 minutes Gary Cahill smashed into the net from six yards to make it 2-0 after a corner cannons off Ander Herrera.
The hosts continued their dominance in the second half, further extending their lead in the 62nd minute when Eden Hazard beat the Manchester defence line and rolled the ball into the far corner of the net.
N’Golo Kante completed the rout in the 70th minute when he got the ball from about 30 yards from goal and ghosted past the United defence to slot into the far corner.
Nigerian international Victor Moses played a big role in the Chelsea victory as he was on duty for the entire 90 minutes and was a torn in the flesh of the disgraced visitors.
