Fire guts University of Jos Library, Faculty Building

A three storey building housing the University of Jos library, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Management Studies has been gutted by fire.

The fire incident occurred late Saturday night shortly after the students finished their ongoing examinations on the third floor of the building.

The library complex located in the permanent site of the university was commissioned in 1997.

An eye-witness at the scene confirmed that the entire library complex was totally burnt while all records in the affected faculties were also destroyed.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. (Channels TV)
