Today’s Weather: NiMET predicts cloudy conditions, thunderstorms in North and Central states, rain showers down South

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Tuesday, September 27, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected over the region in the morning hours. There are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Potiskum and Nguru axis later in the day. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 32 – 34°C.

CENTRAL STATES: The area is expected to be cloudy with chances of morning isolated thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Jalingo, Gombe, Markurdi and its environs. Localised thunderstorms are not unlikely over Minna, Bida, Yelwa and Ilorin axis in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 26 – 32°C.

SOUTHERN STATES: The region will experience increased cloudiness in the morning with of localised rains over Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Abakaliki and Enugu. Localised thunderstorms/rain showers are not unlikely over the inland and coastal cities such as Delta, Bayelsa and Lagos including Benin, Akure, Ibadan, Owerri and Awka during the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28 – 31°C.
