As Edo State voters prepare to cast their votes to elect a new governor next week, comedian Klint da Drunk has joined the campaign trail of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, calling on Edo voters to turn out en masse on September 28 and vote for Ize-Iyamu.
The popular comedian whose real name is Afamefuna Igwemma was one of the star attractions when the PDP campaign trail stopped at a public field in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, south of Benin City, a hotly contested area made up of a high population of voters.
Donning an all-black kaftan, Klimt da Drunk was in his usual comic elements, staggering, wagering and wobbling as he showered praises on the PDP governorship flag bearer.
Addressing a baying crowd of thousands of PDP faithful, Klint da Drunk crowed: “Do you know why I’m dressed in all black? I did not come for rally, but I’ve come for the burial of the other parties, because whether they like it or not, Ize-Iyamu is already governor.”
He added: “Ize-Iyamu is a man of God. God has blessed us with him. If you know what is good for you, vote for this man.”
Just before handing over the microphone, Klimt da Drunk turned to Ize-Iyamu and said: “Oga mi! Me and you now, we are friends. Remember me in paradise.” The crowd burst out in laughter and Ize-Iyamu smiled widely.
