Following the operation of the military tagged ‘Crocodile Smile’ in the Niger Delta, the national body of the Ijaw Youth Council have called on the military to tread with caution.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, the president of the council, Elvis Donkemezuo, said that while the Army must be commended for the exercise, there is need to protect the communities.
The group insisted that the federal government must only dialogue with ethnic nationalities and not the Niger Delta Avengers or any militant group.
