NiMET predicts cloudy conditions, thunderstorms today in the North, rainfall in Central and Southern states

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Monday, September 5, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected to prevail over this region with some prospects of thunderstorms over Yelwa, Sokoto and Bauchi and their environs. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 30 - 35°C.

CENTRAL STATES: There are chances of morning rainfall over Jalingo, Yola, Mambilla Plateau and Jos. Afternoon thunderstorms are likely over Abuja, Jos, Minna, Bida, Lokoja, Makurdi, and Ilorin. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 25- 31°C.

SOUTHERN STATES: There are prospects of some rainfall in the morning over Ikom, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Port Harcourt, Eket, Yenagoa, Benin and their environs. Areas expected to be affected by afternoon rains include the coastal cities and places around Enugu, Onitsha, Awka, Ebonyi, Owerri, Calabar, Ojoja, Akure, Oshogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Benin, Asaba, Shaki, Abeokuta and Warri. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 29-30°C.
