Recession: Sokoto holds special prayers for Nigeria

Against the backdrop of the current state of affairs in the country, special prayers were held Friday across Sokoto State.

The prayer which was organised by the Department for Special Duties, held at selected mosques. Government officials and other prominent people participated in the spiritual exercise. Permanent Secretary, Department for Special Duties, Alhaji Abubakar Sahabi Bello, said they decided to hold the special prayer for the economic stability and progress of Sokoto State and Nigeria.

He said Sultan Muhammad Maccido mosque served as the main centre for the prayer.

Bello added that Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal gave all the necessary support towards successful conduct of the exercise. (Daily Trust)
