Cloudy conditions, localised thunderstorms to dominate today’s weather, says NiMET •Also forecasts rains in the South

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Thursday, September 1, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected with possibility of localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Nguru, Maiduguri, Kano and Potiskum in the evening/night hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 30-32oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over the region in the morning with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Jalingo, Ibi and Lafia axis. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over places like Abuja, Jos, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba during the afternoon/evening. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 25-31oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness is expected over the areas in the morning with chances of localised rains over cities like Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Enugu, Awka Ibadan, Ijebu-Ode and Akure later in the afternoon/evening. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27-30 oC.
