Immigration recruits in Nigeria protesting against their suspension have kicked against an invitation for a re-screening.

They have resolved to continue their protest in the Federal Capital Territory.

They insist that they are bonafide staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service, having gone through what they describe as the most intensive recruitment exercise ever in the history of the service.

The Immigration Service said there were irregularities in their recruitment process that led to their suspension.

But the protesters also claimed that there was nothing irregular about their appointments.

Some suspended recruits of the Immigration Service had on Friday, staged a protest march at the presidency to complain about what they claimed was an attempt to rob them of their jobs.

They are asking the authorities of the agency to reinstate them in the spirit of justice.

Representatives of the 2,000 recruits suspended by the Nigeria Immigration Service had said that their patience was running out. (Channels TV)
