NiMET predicts cloudy conditions and thunderstorms today across the country, says rains also likely in central and southern states

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Thursday, August 4, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly Cloudy conditions are expected in the morning with chances of morning thunderstorms over Sokoto and Yelwa axis. In the afternoon/evening period, partly cloudy to Cloudy conditions are expected with possibilities of isolated thunderstorms over Kano,

Kaduna and Zaria. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 29 - 33 o C.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over the region with prospects of localised rains over Gombe, Bauchi, Ibi and Jalingo in the morning. Localised thunderstorms and rains are also probable over parts of Niger, the high ground areas like Jos, Lafia and Abuja during the afternoon/evening hours. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 29 - 30 o C.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected over the region in the morning. Localised rains are expected to affect the inland cities and parts of the coastal areas like Port Harcourt, Calabar and Eket in the afternoon/evening period. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 28-30 o C.
