Militancy: Ijaw leaders in crucial meeting

Ijaw leaders, including traditional rulers, are presently meeting at the Warri in the residence of Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark, to discuss renewed militancy in the Niger Delta region.
Ijaw leaders from Bayelsa, Edo, Rivers, Ondo, Delta and Cross River states are taking part in the emergency meeting.
The governor of Bayelsa State, Mr Henry Seriake Dickson, and the deputy governor of Delta State were still being expected at the meeting as at the time of filing this report.
It was learned that the meeting would discussed present occurrences in the region and states of affairs in the country.
It was also learned that Chief Clark, who is the convener of the emergency meeting, would chair it.
