Expect cloudy conditions and thunderstorms in North and Central states today, rain showers in the South —NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Tuesday, July 26, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected with chances of localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Gusau and Katsina during the morning hours. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Nguru and Potiskum during the afternoon/evening hours. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 30 - 32 oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning situation is expected in the region with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Mambila axis. There are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the high grounds of the central cities including Abuja, Makurdi, Kaduna, Zaria, Jos, Nasarawa

and Lokoja in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 25- 30 oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: The inland and coastal cities are expected to have localised rains/showers such as Lagos, Delta, Calabar and Port Harcourt including Oshogbo, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu and Awka later in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28- 31 oC.
