Angry youths of Bokkos in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State are protesting the murder of paramount ruler of Bokkos, Saf Ron-Kulere, Lazarus Agai and three others on Monday evening.

The aggrieved youths took to the streets in the early hours of Tuesday protesting and blocking the highway between Bokkos and Barkin Ladi to express their grievances on the killings.

The Plateau State Police Commissioner, Olakunle Oladunjoye, explained that contrary to insinuations that that the traditional ruler was shot, he died as a result of the vehicle losing control after the driver of his vehicle was shot.

More security personnel were deployed to the area to forestall total breakdown of law and order as the angry youths barricaded the highway.

Reports reaching Channels Television indicate that the youths have retreated to the late paramount ruler’s palace where they are mourning the deaths.

They await more assurances from the state government and the Police of efforts at fishing out the perpetrators of the act.

The Plateau State government, in a statement signed by Director of Press and Public Affairs, Emmanuel Nanle, has promised government’s determination in fishing out perpetrators of the heinous act through intelligence security network.

The government, however, also appealed to residents of the local government to remain calm and law abiding.

The monarch was attacked in his village, Sha, while coming back from the farm along Bokkos-Barkin Ladi Road on Monday evening in company of his son, his police orderly and driver.

They all died from the attack.
