Cloudy conditions, thunderstorms to dominate today’s weather, says NiMET •Predicts isolated rain showers in the South

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Wednesday, June 29, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: The North West will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions during the forecast period while the North East will be cloudy in the morning with prospects of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening hours over Maiduguri, Kano, Gusau, Potiskum, and Katsina. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 29- 33 oC.

CENTRAL STATES: A cloudy morning is anticipated with chances of morning thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Lafia, Bauchi, Yola and Ibi. In the afternoon/evening period, there are prospects of localised thunderstorms over most parts of the central cities. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28- 30 oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: The Inland of the South and Lagos axis are expected to be cloudy while isolated rain showers are likely over Port Harcourt, Calabar and Eket in the morning. Later in the day localised thunderstorms are likely over places like Lagos, Oshogbo, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri and Eket. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27- 30 oC.
