NiMET predicts rains today in Benin, Port Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Lagos, Akure and Oshogbo

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Saturday, May 28, 2016: 

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected during the forecast period with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Sokoto and Birnin Kebbi during the morning hours. Maximum temperatures forecast are expected to be in the range of 35 - 39oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning is anticipated with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Yelwa, Abuja, Kaduna, Lokoja and Minna axis. Partly cloudy condition is expected in the afternoon/evening period with chances of localised thunderstorms over Jos Plateau, Lafia, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau axis during the afternoon/evening period. Maximum temperatures forecast are likely to be in the range of 28 - 33oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness will be experience over the region in the morning. There are chances of localised rains over the coastal cities such as Benin, Port Harcourt, Eket, Calabar and Lagos including inland places like Akure, Oshogbo, during the forecast period. Maximum temperatures forecast are expected to be in the range of 31 - 32oC.
