The Abuja Municipal Council (AMAC) elections held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Saturday, has been declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to INEC, the total figures in the local government and chairmanship elections shows that the ruling party, APC, has a vote cast of 26,602, while the opposition party PDP, has 21, 230 votes cast.

News Express Correspondent in Abuja, who monitored the election reports that the total valid votes amounted to 49,230 while total rejected votes was put at 2,316, which made total votes cast 51,546. Thus, 5,372 is the margin between both APC and PDP candidates.

However, 15,360 voters were disenfranchised due to cancelled elections. The margin of win, is lesser than the number of voters that were disenfranchised, hence a rerun is to be held.
