The Chairman of Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuah, has lauded Governor Nyesom Wike for his choice of venue and providing the enabling environment for hosting the ongoing capacity-building retreat for senior government officials.

The choice of Onne, Eleme Local Government Area, for the retreat, Obuah said, is a marked departure from former Governor Rotimi Amaechi administration’s approach of frittering away state resources by hosting such events outside the state.

“The choice of Onne suburban as the venue of this high-calibre gathering to rub minds and exchange ideas on how best to improve service delivery for sustainable development in the state will not only guard against the usual avoidable wastes in holding such functions outside the state but also showcase the tourism potentials of the state, which subsequently attracts foreign investments,” Bro Obuah said.

He also commended the Governor for his foresight in using the occasion to prove to the world that there is relative peace in the state, “contrary to the negative impression being created by the failed opposition to disparage his administration,” adding: “Governor Wike’s unruffled posture and nature in the face of provocation has remained the pivot for rapid infrastructural development in the state.”

Bro Obuah enjoined Governor Wike not to relent, while reassuring him of the party’s maximum co-operation to achieve set objectives, even as he wished all participants in the capacity strengthening retreat a very successful outing.
