The Police Service Commission (PSC) has unveiled a portal for the recruitment of 10,000 officers as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

At the National Security Summit last year, Buhari ordered the Police to recruit more men to boost security.

The Commission Chairman, Sir Mike Okiro, who unveiled the portal Wednesday in Abuja, said the portal would be opened to the public on April 1.

He advised interested Nigerians to access the portal through the commission’s website or that of the Nigeria Police Force,

Okiro announced that there would be no charges for the processing of the forms which would be done on-line, adding: “We are not charging money. It is free, absolutely free.” He also noted that the portal had been structured in a way that there would be no short cut, stressing that everybody must go through due process.”

Okiro said there had been no recruitment into the Police for over five years due to financial constraint. (TVC)
