Igbo think tank, has commiserated with those who lost their loved ones, the residents of Mile 12 Market and those who were affected by the unfortunate clash. “We are suing for peace among the parties involved as the closure of the market will not only affect the owners of the perishing goods, but the end users,” President General of Aka Ikenga, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, said.
“We are calling the warring groups to sheathe their swords and embrace peace, as there is no gain in one taking the life of the other,” he said in a statement issued today in Lagos.
“Once more, we are urging the Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, to do everything possible to bring lasting peace and sanity in the area. All we are saying is let there be tolerance and peaceful co-existence,” Chief Uwazurike said.
