The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) says there is no power tussle in the agency over the position of Acting Managing Director.
The Acting General Manager, Public Affairs, NAMA, Mrs Olajumoke Adetona, made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday in Lagos.
The statement said reports that there was a power tussle among management staff for the position were untrue.
It said the Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, had visited the agency as soon as he became aware that some of the agency's top officials, including the Managing Director, had been held by the EFCC.
“The minister personally visited the agency on Feb. 16, and gave clear directives to Mr Emmanuel Anasi, who was the Acting Director, Safety Electronics and Engineering Services, to oversee the affairs of the Agency for the time being.
“At no time thereafter did any management staff seek to contest or dispute the clear directives of the minister with regard to the interim leadership of the agency.”
The statement said that NAMA remained fully engaged in the diligent performance of its statutory duties and responsibilities.
It said there was no threat whatsoever to the safety of the country’s airspace. (NAN)
