In a surprise move believed to have been aimed at shaking off security operatives, the Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL), brought forward its congress originally advertised for February 27, and also changed the venue at the last minute.

“The congress successfully held last Saturday, 20th February, 2016 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State,” BNYL Leader, Comrade Prince Chimezie Obuka, said in a statement sent to News Express by e-mail.

He said that the highlight of the congress earlier advertised to hold in Ikom, Cross River State, was the presence of a four-man delegation from former British Southern Cameroon, with which the BNYL executive held fruitful discussions.

“Our first Congress recorded huge success, especially in view of our talks with the delegates sent by the Liberation Governing Council of Former British Southern Cameroon, whose land Ambazonia was annexed, subjugated by La Republic du Cameroon,” Comrade Obuja said. “We agreed to work together and they are enthusiastic about what we are doing as they believe that it is only an independent Biafran State that will force the artificial government out from Ambazonia, including Bakassi Peninsula.

“We have told them the role to play in this struggle; they will cooperate because they are part of us and we are part of them, aside the artificial boundaries difference.”
