Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has congratulated former Senate President, David Mark, for emerging victorious in the re-run election for Benue South Senatorial District.
Ikpeazu said he is happy that by the victory, David Mark is fully re-affirmed as a member of the 8th Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria, stressing that it is another feather to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and another victory for democracy in Nigeria.
The Governor described the victory as “the voice of the people and a vote of confidence by the people of Benue South whom David Mark has represented meaningfully in his sojourn at the red chambers of the National Assembly.”
He urged the veteran senator to see his victory as a clarion call for higher service and higher stewardship by his constituents who have reposed so much trust, loyalty and confidence in him by ensuring to his victory at all the elections.
Governor Ikpeazu in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary Godwin Adindu also assured Senator David Mark of the love and support of the people and government of Abia State at all times and described him as a friend of the state.
He prayed God to guide the senator and grant him good heath and wisdom with which to lead the people and serve Nigeria at this point in history.
The Governor equally congratulated the people of Benue South for their doggedness and perseverance in support of their chosen leader and expressed optimism that their desires and aspiration shall be fulfilled in the hand of Senator David Mark.
