The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Tuesday, February 23, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze condition is expected over this region in visibility value of 2-3km with a localised visibility of less than or equal to 1,000m. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 16-20oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Moderate dust haze condition is anticipated over this region with localized visibility of about 2-5km. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 17-24oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions is expected to prevail over this region. While we anticipate slight showers over some part of the coastal cities. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 20-25oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks. Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the northern states of the country.
