Expect sunny and hazy weather today: NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Monday, February 15, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Sunny and hazy conditions in good visibility are expected over Maiduguri, Kano, Sokoto, Katsina and Yola. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 10-17oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Abuja, Bida, lafia, Makurdi, Ilorin and Kaduna will experience sunny and hazy conditions in good visibility. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 16 -22oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy conditions are expected over Port Harcourt,lagos,Ibadan, Enugu, Akure, Awka and yenagoa while calabar, Eket and warri may likely experience rain showers in the afternoon/evening hours. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 18-26oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and sunny. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
