President of the Senate has promised that the Senate would give SMEDAN every support needed to thrive in all areas, since the agency has the capacity to create more job employments and expand our foreign exchange rate with robust exportation.

Saraki made this assurance while receiving in his office at the National Assembly, members of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

He, however, stated that the Senate Committee on Industry would work towards expanding the productivity scope of SMEDAN.

While congratulating SMEDAN on the development, he charged them on better performance and standard improvement, adding that “there is no country that doesn't support its local industries and Nigeria cannot be an exception.”

In the delegation led by Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South Senatorial District, the lawmaker stated that the visit was to intimate Senate President Bukola Saraki on the upcoming, ‘Made in Aba Trade Fair.’

Abaribe, while presenting some of the Aba Made Products which include military kits to the Senate President, explained that the initiative is a zonal intervention project from his constituency - Abia South.

Consequently, Saraki responded that “the AbaMade Kits would be very good for the military use. Truly, our military men need pairs of kits not one. We have to encourage you instead of trying to import what can be produced in Nigeria. This is the way forward & everyone should support.”
