The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Monday, February 1, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: The suspended dust in the atmosphere may reduce visibility to 1,000m or less in places like Kano, Katsina, Nguru, Gusau and Sokoto. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 10-15oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Moderate visibility values of 2-5km are anticipated over Abuja, Bida, Makurdi and Kaduna. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 8 -20oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions in visibility range of 2-5Km are expected to prevail over the coastal and the inland cities. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 17-26oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks. Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the country.
