NiMET lists cities to experience thick dust haze, moderate dust haze today

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday 31st, 2016.

NORTHERN STATES: Places like Kano, Katsina, Zaria, Potiskum, Kano, Yelwa, Nguru and Maiduguri should experienced thick dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 9-13oC. 

CENTRAL STATES: Thick dust haze is expected over the region with the exception of Lafia and Makurdi that will experience moderate dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 15-19oC. 

SOUTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions in visibility range of 2-5Km are expected to prevail over the coastal and the inland Cities. Night time temperatures are likely to be in the range of 16-21oC. 

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks. Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the country
