Airtel Nigeria emerges best brand in Facebook Engagement •Crosses 500,000 fans mark

Social Bakers, a leading, global provider of social media analytic tools, statistics and metrics for Facebook, has rated leading telecomm services provider, Airtel Nigeria, as the best brand in Facebook Engagement Rate.

Facebook Engagement Rate measures how well fans interact with the content an organisation or brand posts on the popular, social media platform. It also takes into account Likes, Comments and Shares of a post of a particular brand to the total number of fans of the brand at the time it was posted.

The global social media analytics company also revealed that Airtel has crossed the 500,000 fans’ mark on the popular social media platform.

According to Social Bakers, Airtel currently has the most engaging page in Nigeria on Facebook and is the third most popular Facebook page in the country.

In the report published online on the Social Bakers Corporate Website, http://www.socialbakers.com/facebook-statistics/nigeria, Airtel Nigeria scored the highest engagement rate in the country with a 78% engagement rate and also recorded a large fan base of 512,566.00.

The report focused on top 10 Nigerian brands on Facebook namely GTBank, MTN, Airtel Nigeria, Nokia Nigeria, Etisalat Nigeria, The First Group, Heineken, Always Nigeria, Samsung Mobile Nigeria and Konga.com.

According to the Vice President, Corporate Communications & CSR of Airtel Nigeria, Emeka Oparah, the report is a confirmation of the company’s commitment to realising its vision of becoming the most loved brand in the daily lives of Nigerians. Mr. Oparah assured that Airtel would keep exploring various platforms to excite and engage telecoms consumers.
