True to their boast, Nigeria’s Super Eagles this afternoon overcame hard-fighting hosts, Harambee Stars of Kenya, to extend their lead on the Group F World Cup African qualifiers.

The African champions dominated the game played on a poor pitch at the Kasarani Stadium, with CSKA Moscow Ahmed Musa ensuring victory when he chipped the ball over an onrushing Kenya goalkeeper Duncan Ochieng in the 81st minute after slipping past his marker. Musa had terrorised the homers for much of the game which saw John Mikel Obi marshalling the midfield.

With this result, the Super Eagles are yet to lose a game in their last 17 encounters. They have now extended their points haul to eight as against six by Malawi, who had five points going into their game against Namibia, which ended goalless.

The Eagles have promised to also beat their last opponents Namibia away next week.
