A book that reveals unique strategies on how to arrest challenges and fundamental problems besetting youth development in the country will soon be released.

The author of the book and member of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Carl Oshodi-Isibor, disclosed this in a chat with News Express Benin City. Oshodi says the book, which is titled ‘This House Shall Rise Again’, intends to redirect the mind of young persons, and would act as a compendium for bodies such as security operatives and other government organisations.

The book is skillfully written to serve the Nigerian reading public. Issues treated in the book include human psychology, law and justice, cultural values and child development.

Emphasising on the area of child development, Oshodi-Isibor made a comparison between the art of bringing up children and mathematics. His words: “If you get the formula of training your kids wrong at the start, then every other solution to their behavioural problems and personality development would be wrong as well, except you go back and apply the correct formula.” The book offers strategies in this regard.

Oshodi-Isibor also called on parents to make profound effort to be morally upright, so as to serve as perfect moral guides for the children. “Given that 80% of the parents’ behaviour is transferred to the child via imitation, the child is most likely going to reflect the moral level of his parents in his own behaviour,” he said.

Oshodi-Isibor is a public affairs analyst with regular appearances on several television stations across Nigeria. He talks and writes on crisis management, security and ways of arresting social restiveness in Nigeria and Africa. He is a graduate of Pure and Applied Psychology, Berea College, USA.

With the subtitle of his soon to be released work being ‘The Book of Hope’, it is hoped that Nigerians would find inspiration from the book.
