Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which held behind closed doors, is coming moments after the news broke that the 2016 budget had been withdrawn from the National Assembly.

When the meeting ended after about 30 minutes, the Senate President refused to talk to reporters who had already gathered in front of the President’s office to know why he was visiting.

When asked about the reports that the copies of the 2016 budget handed over to the National Assembly by President Buhari on December 22, 2015 were missing, Dr Saraki expressed surprise, but declined to comment.

He quickly rushed into his waiting car without answering the question.

The Nigerian Senate was scheduled to commence deliberation on the proposed budget on Tuesday.
