The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Friday, January 8, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Maiduguri, Nguru, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto and Yola will experience hazy, dry and sunny condition. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 13-17oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Hazy atmospheric condition with increase daily temperature values will persist over places like Abuja, Minna, Bida, Nassarawa, Ilorin and Makurdi. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 18-20oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Mist/Fog patches are likely in the early hours of the day over cities like Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Calabar and Eket. There are chances of isolated rain showers over cities like Port Harcourt, Calabar and Eket during afternoon/evening period. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 20-25oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
