Gunmen abduct ex-PDP presidential aspirant

Gunmen said to be numbering about 20 at the weekend stormed Ikenga-Ogidi community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, invaded the residence of Rev. Dr. Emma Obianagha, a one-time presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

The half-masked gunmen, according to information reaching News Express, stormed Obianagha’s residence at about 7:30 p.m. and gained access to the building through a half-open gate before pouncing on the vigilante operative guarding the property, Obalim Obidike, who was having his dinner at the time.

They reportedly ordered the security guard to lie face-down and give them direction to where his boss and was manhandled when he replied that his boss was not at home. The gunmen were said to have thereafter ascended the stair case, saw and abducted Obianagha,.

The Divisional Police Officer, Ogidi Division, Hassan Musa, said a formal report has been lodged by Obianagha’s family and that the police is already on the trail of the kidnappers.
