The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Bayelsa State gubernatorial election held on Saturday and Sunday inconclusive.
The Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Zana Akpagu, made the declaration in the state capital, Yenagoa, after announcing the results of the election held yesterday in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Incumbent Governor Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is leading in the ballot, winning six out of the seven LGAs so far collated, with his main rival, former governor Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning only one LGA.
