The 51st spiritual leader of the Yoruba race, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, will today (Monday) be presented with the staff of office by the Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The ceremony will hold at the Enuwa Square in front of the Ile Oodua (Ooni’s palace). It is expected to have many dignitaries in attendance, among them the Queen Elizabeth England; President Muhammadu Buhari; some governors; ministers and other important personalities from within and outside the country.

Oba Ogunwusi succeeds Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who died on July 28 in a London hospital at the age of 85.

Oba Ogunwusi was announced the new Ooni on October 26 and he started the installation rites on October 28 when he arrived in Ife. He proceeded to Ilofi (seclusion) where he was initiated.

Ogunwusi had on Wednesday said he would establish a football academy which, according to him, would liberate some youths from the grip of unemployment.
