Players who impressed at a recently held grassroots football competition in Lagos are getting ready to take their careers to a massive new level. Daily Sports can reveal that 14 talented footballers who shone at the competition are going to be marketed to top European club sides during the coming January international football transfer window by the management of Lagos-based Real Sapphire Football Academy.
In a recent exclusive chat, the Sports Director of Real Sapphire Academy, Francis Ogette, sounded upbeat about the scouting exercise embarked upon by his company.
“We had a wonderful project. 14 players were selected. They will leave for Europe soon,” he said.
Real Sapphire football tournament held in Epe, Lagos, featured teams from different states of Nigeria.
Ogette revealed that the players picked from the tournament are heading to European clubs that specifically include Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia, Panathinaikos of Greece and Turkey’s Besiktas.
Of the 14 players selected, Ogette stated that five of them are from BJ Foundation of Benin City. “Three are from Uyo, two each from Warri and Enugu, one each from Lagoon and Kaduna,” he disclosed
The president of Real Sapphire Academy is UK-based Frank Peters.
